NEPSE sees high intraday volatility; Market crossed 1288 points but closed to lose 2.31 points

The market today crossed 1288 points at its highest and fell to 1270 points at its lowest. The market closed to lose 2.31 points or 0.18% at 1277.74 points. Today’s turnover was of Rs.91.46 Crore which was achieved from trade of 4,591,048 units of shares through 8,941 transactions trading scrips of 171 companies.
Commercial Banks dominated the trade today as well. Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) achieved the highest turnover of Rs.6.27 Crore, followed by NMB Bank (NMB) with turnover of Rs.6.07 Crore. In terms of shares traded, Capital merchant Bank and Finance Company (CMB) topped the list with trade of 1,570,175 units of shares followed by Civil Bank Limited (CBL) with trade of 269,139 units of shares.
Today’s top gainer was Samata Microfinance (SMATA) after it gained 9.93% or 120 points. The LTP of the microfinance Company stands at Rs.1329 per share. Nepal Community Development Bank (NCDB) were today’s top losers after it lost 5.79% or 8 points. The LTP stands at Rs.130 per share.
Sensitive Index lost 0.5 points and closed at 271.72 points while Float Index lost 0.23 points and closed at 93.24 points.
Except for Others and Life-Insurance sector, all the other sub-indices lost today. Life-Insurance sector was the top gainer after it gained 0.54%. Manufacturing and Production sector lost 0.76%, losing more than any other sub-index.
