NEPSE Surges by 31.48 Points After Dashain, Finance Index Leads with 4.61% Gain

Today marked the first trading session on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) after the Dashain festival, with the NEPSE index closing at 2,699.66 points. This represents a notable increase of 31.48 points, or 1.17%, compared to the previous day's close. The market had also seen a modest gain of 4.85 points on the last trading day before the festival break.

The trading session began with the index opening at 2,668.08, hitting an intraday low of 2,667.82 and a high of 2,700.23.

A total of 307 stocks were traded through 35,648 transactions, resulting in the exchange of 6,417,267 shares and a total turnover of Rs. 3.06 Arba. The market capitalization reached Rs. 42.92 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 15.14 Kharba.

Goodwill Finance Limited (GFCL) recorded the highest turnover of Rs. 18.05 crores, closing at a market price of Rs. 1,077.

Two companies hit the positive circuit limit today.

Meanwhile, Mid Solu Hydropower Limited (MSHL) faced a significant loss, dropping by a maximum of 10%.

Among the sector indices, all except the Manufacturing and Processing Index closed green. The "Finance Index" was the top performer, gaining 4.61%.
