NEPSE Surges to 2,131.49 Levels, Boosted by 4.23% Rise in Banking Sector; Market Cap Hits Rs. 33.79 Kharba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a gain of 0.73% or 15.54 points, settling at 2,131.49 points at the close of trading today, following a gain of 23.94 points in the previous session.

Today the index opened at 2116.74 and then made the intraday low at 2,108.37. In contrast, it went as high as 2,140.24 and ultimately closed at 2,131.49.

With a bustling trading environment, 318 stocks were exchanged in 78,051 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 14,419,521 with a total turnover of Rs. 5.68 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 33.79 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs.11.55 Kharba.

Nerude Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMLBBL) emerged as the day's highlight with a turnover of Rs. 24.42 Crore, closing at a market price of Rs. 790.

Similarly, Two Companies hit a positive circuit for today.

Conversely, Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBS) faced a decline, losing 8.05% to close at Rs.1,360.

In terms of sector indices, nine sector indices closed in red today. The "Banking Index" saw the highest gain of 4.23%, while the "Finance Index" saw the highest decline of 1.34%.
