The Government of Nepal has announced a public holiday from Thursday, Kartik 22, to Saturday, Kartik 24, in observance of Chhath. During this period, the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will be closed, with trading set to resume on Sunday, Kartik 25, 2081, at 11:00 AM.

Chhath Parva, an important festival in Nepal, attracts numerous pilgrims across the nation, particularly to riverbanks where the rituals take place. This celebration emphasizes physical and spiritual purity, especially for the women who traditionally observe the festival. Devotees gather over three days, beginning with a day of cleaning and fasting, followed by preparing offerings on the second day, and concluding with rituals by the riverside at sunset.
