The Government of Nepal has declared a public holiday today, Thursday (Ashwin 17), to celebrate Ghatasthapana.
As a result, the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will remain closed for the day. Regular trading is set to resume on Sunday, Ashwin 20, 2081, at 11:00 AM.
Ghatasthapana marks the first day of Dashain, a major festival in Nepal, symbolizing the beginning of rituals by sowing barley seeds for the Jamara, which are used in later ceremonies.
