The Government of Nepal has declared public holidays for Monday and Tuesday (today and tomorrow), the 3rd and 4th of Bhadra, in celebration of "Janai Purnima" and "Gaijatra."
Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will remain closed in observance of these festivals. Regular trading will resume on Wednesday, 5th Bhadra, 2081, at 11:00 AM.
Janai Purnima, also known as Raksha Bandhan, is a Hindu festival where sacred threads (janai) are renewed, symbolizing protection. Gaijatra, or the "Festival of Cows," is a unique Nepali celebration where families honor deceased loved ones by parading decorated cows and people in costumes, blending humor with remembrance. Both festivals highlight the rich cultural and religious heritage of Nepal.
