NEPSE to Remain Closed Today, Govt Declares Public Holiday to Mark EID

The Government of Nepal has announced a public holiday for Monday (today), the 18th Chaitra, during the "EID."

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will remain closed to mark EID. Regular trading will resume on Tuesday (Chaitra 19, 2081) at 11:00 a.m.

Eid is a significant Islamic festival celebrated worldwide. There are two main Eid celebrations: Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, and Eid al-Adha, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Eid is a time of prayer, charity, feasting, and community gatherings, emphasizing gratitude, generosity, and unity.
