NEPSE to Remain Closed Today, Govt Declares Public Holiday to Mark Fagu Purnima

The Government of Nepal has announced a public holiday for Thursday (today), the 29th Falgun, during the 'Fagu Purnima.'

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will remain closed to mark Fagu Purnima. Regular trading will resume on Sunday (Chaitra 03, 2081) at 11:00 a.m.

Fagu Purnima, also known as Holi, is Nepal’s most vibrant festival, symbolizing colors, friendship, and love. Celebrated on the full moon day of Falgun, it marks the victory of good over evil, rooted in the legend of Prahlad and Holika. People celebrate by smearing colors, splashing water, and sharing joy with friends and family. This lively festival transcends religious boundaries, attracting tourists worldwide to experience Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.
