NEPSE Witnessed Loss of 0.80% to Close at 2,609.58 Levels; Microfinance Sector Gain Highest

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a decrease of 21.12 points (0.80%) today, closing at 2,609.58. This comes after a single-digit gain of 4.19 points in the previous session, reflecting steady market sentiment.
The market opened at 2,631.98 and witnessed fluctuations throughout the day, reaching an intraday high of 2,641.17 and a low of 2,601.84.
The total turnover for the day stood at Rs. 5.47 Arba, generated from 66,774 transactions involving 11,099,239 shares of 316 companies.
Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) led the turnover chart with Rs. 26.10 crores worth of trades, closing at Rs. 241.10 per share.
On the gainers' side, Mahila Lagubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBSL) experienced the maximum allowable growth, increasing by 10%.
Conversely, five companies saw a significant drop, declining by 10%.
Among the sectoral indices, the Microfinance Index recorded the highest increase, rising by 1.12%. Meanwhile, the Finance Index faced the largest decline, dropping by 4.47%.
