NEPSE Witnessed Loss of 2.68% to Close at 2,894.57 Levels; Microfinance Sector Gain Highest

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a significant drop today, closing at 2,894.57 points, down by 79.88 points or 2.68% from the previous session. In contrast, the previous session saw a modest gain of 6.01 points, ending at 2,974.46 points.

The trading day saw the index open at 2,987.06 points and fluctuate significantly, reaching an intraday high of 2,990.04 points and a low of 2,885.39 points before settling at its closing value.

Intense trading activity marked the session, with 333 scrips traded across 218,578 transactions, involving 42,686,640 shares and resulting in a turnover of Rs. 19.74 Arba. The market capitalization soared to Rs. 45.97 Kharba, while the float market capitalization reached Rs. 16.24 Kharba.

 

Api Power Company Ltd. (API) led the market in turnover, with Rs. 84.68 Crore, closing at Rs. 367 per share.

 

Three companies hit the upper circuit limit of 10%.

 

Meanwhile, Mandakini Hydropower Limited (MHL) experienced the biggest loss, dropping by 9.91%.

 

Analyzing sector indices, only one sector index ended in the green. The Microfinance Index led the gains with a 1.08% increase, while the Investment Index experienced the highest loss, declining by 3.83%.
