NEPSE's Downfall Interrupted with Loss of 90.46 Points in Two Trading Days; Mutual Fund Index Gain Highest

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a notable drop today, ending at 2,695.93 points, down 53.63 points or 1.95% from the previous session. This decline follows a loss of 36.83 points in the last session, where the index closed at 2,749.57 points.
Trading began with the index at 2,749.68 points, experiencing significant volatility throughout the day. It reached an intraday peak of 2,781.75 points and fell to a low of 2,686.61 points before closing at the final value.
The session was marked by active trading, with 337 stocks traded through 130,632 transactions. A total of 26,246,435 shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of NPR 10.51 Arba. The market capitalization increased to NPR 42.81 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was NPR 15.08 Kharba.
Goodwill Finance Limited (GFCL) led the market in turnover, recording NPR 52.31 Crore and closing at NPR 1,230 per share.
Three companies hit the upper circuit limit of 10% today.
On the other hand, three companies experienced the largest declines, each falling by 10%.
Among sector indices, only one sector saw a positive closing. The Mutual Index posted a gain of 0.80%, whereas the Finance Index sector faced the largest decline, dropping by 3.44%.
