NIBL to donate Rs 30 million to Pashupati Area Dev Trust

Nepal Investment Bank Ltd (NIBL) will provide Rs30 million to the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) over three years to maintain Mahasnan Ghar (Great Bathhouse) constructed by king Rana Bahadur Shah in 1856 BS in the Pashupati area. The southern and western sides of Mahasnan Ghar were damaged during the devastating earthquakes of April 25 and May 12 last year. The bank said in a press release Sunday that it signed a pact with the PADT under the People’s Involvement and Development programme to maintain Mahasnan Ghar, which the king had built in the name of his queen Kantiwati. According to the agreement signed on Sunday, the reconstruction of Mahasnan Ghar will be completed within a year and a museum will come into operation within three years. NIBL will provide financial aid of Rs10 million annually for three years. NIBL Chief Executive Officer Jyoti Prakash Pandey and member secretary of the trust Govinda Tandan signed the agreement, the bank said. Source: ekantipur
