NRB to Withdraw Additional Rs. 40 Billion to Manage Liquidity
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced plans to extract Rs. 40 billion from the banking system as part of its ongoing liquidity management efforts.
Amid limited loan investment by banks, the central bank will utilize a bidding mechanism to withdraw excess funds from the market for a period of 21 days. In this regard, NRB has called for proposals from financial institutions experiencing liquidity constraints.
Since December 17, the central bank has already mopped up Rs. 120.15 billion from the market.
