Number of Investor Associations come together to appeal for betterment of securities market; seeks an audience with the PM

Various investors association have come together to appeal for the regulation and development of the stock market through a press release.
The statement begins with addressing the growing issue of continuous loss in the stock market. It mentions that the elected government should direct fund towards the improvement of the stock market. The stock market had reached 1888 points in previous years under a different leader. The stock market, which is considered to be the mirror of the economy has now fallen as low as 1123 points.
The statement condemns authorities like Ministry of Finance, SEBON, NEPSE and CDSC for negligence of their duties and failure to implement short, medium and long term improvement measures mentioned in the 58 point demand of the association. It also mentions the issue of capital gain tax saying no definite solution has been found yet.
Due to these issues, many investors have lost huge amount of money and are on the verge of bankruptcy. Citing these reasons, the association has made a strong appeal to improve the investment environment of Nepal, to take measures for improving the infrastructure of the stock market, to make the securities market accessible to all and to keep the market unbiased. The association also made an appeal to the PM to take time out and meet the investors to address their issues and find a solution in unison.
The statement finally asks investors not to lose hope in the stock market and to stay confident. They are requested not to sell their stock holdings for pennies.
