PM Oli Highlights Nepal’s Prospects Under Belt and Road Initiative at Peking University
Visiting Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized Nepal’s potential benefits from China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) during his address at Peking University. He expressed confidence that the visionary project, spearheaded by President Xi Jinping, would significantly bolster bilateral ties and further Nepal’s developmental aspirations.
Highlighting China’s unwavering support, PM Oli remarked that the BRI would serve as a transformative platform for Nepal, strengthening economic and infrastructural cooperation. He also touched upon the forthcoming 70th anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations in 2025, announcing plans for high-level visits to add new dimensions to their partnership.
The prime minister acknowledged Peking University’s prestigious legacy and its potential to contribute to Nepal’s educational progress. Welcoming PM Oli and his delegation, University Chair Prof. Gong Qihuang commended the collaboration between the two nations.
Later today, PM Oli is set to address the Nepal-China Business Forum, focusing on fostering economic cooperation and trade opportunities.
