PM Oli Urges Boost in Exports to India and China at 8th International Chamber Expo

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli encouraged businesspersons and industrialists to increase exports to neighboring countries India and China by enhancing domestic production. Speaking at the 8th International Chamber Expo organized by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, PM Oli highlighted that identifying marketable goods and fostering international trade would benefit Nepal’s economy. He also mentioned ongoing infrastructure developments to help Nepal achieve mid-level income status by 2026, including upgrading Tribhuvan International Airport and gradually improving Nepal's access to the sea to facilitate trade.

PM Oli emphasized the importance of using science and technology to boost production and urged unity to drive the country’s development. Minister for Communications, Prithvi Subba Gurung, noted plans for legal frameworks on artificial intelligence, and Nepal Chamber of Commerce Chairman Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal expressed optimism about recent government ordinances. The expo, running until February 3, features 125 stalls showcasing products from Nepal, India, Pakistan, and other countries.
