PPMO Issues Notices to Builders/Suppliers for Clarifications, Threatens Blacklisting
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has taken action against 26 builders/suppliers by issuing notices demanding written clarifications. In today's notice, the PPMO has urged these entities to provide detailed explanations regarding why they should not face blacklisting. A strict deadline of 7 days has been set from the date of notice receipt for submitting the written clarifications. This move comes after the builders/suppliers failed to furnish written explanations within the 30-day period, as stipulated in an earlier notice.
Included in the list of 26 construction companies subject to clarification are two firms from India and one from China, with the remainder being Nepali companies. Failure to provide a satisfactory explanation within the specified timeframe may lead to blacklisting, prohibiting participation in public procurement processes during the period of blacklisting. Among the companies summoned for explanation are prominent entities such as Roshis Construction, Umang Traders, and Paurai Baba Construction, alongside several others based in various regions across Nepal.
The PPMO's action underscores its commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in the public procurement process. By demanding written clarifications from the concerned entities, the PPMO aims to address any potential irregularities and uphold the integrity of the procurement system.
