The mutual fund scheme "Prabhu Smart Fund (PSMF)" is promoted by Prabhu Bank Limited and managed by Prabhu Capital Limited.
Prabhu Bank Limited (PBL) is an “A” Class Licensed Institution from Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). It was incorporated on July 21, 1998, as Kist Merchant Banking and Finance Ltd. and renamed as Kist Bank Ltd. June 19, 2001. Later it was merged with three other banks and financial institutions (BFIs) namely Prabhu Bikash Bank Ltd., Zenith Finance Ltd., and Gaurishankar Development Bank Ltd. on September 15, 2014, and the name of the bank was changed to Prabhu Bank Ltd. As on July 15, 2021, 51% of the total shares of PBL were held by the promoter whereas the remaining 49% is held by the general public.
Prabhu Capital Limited is one of the leading Merchant Banking companies with a paid-up capital of NRs. 100 Cr. The primary goal of the company is to serve its clients with innovative and modern Merchant Banking services while also assisting in the development of a successful and healthy Nepalese Capital Market. Prabhu Capital Ltd. is a subsidiary of Prabhu Bank Limited. Prabhu Bank Limited is a part of Prabhu Group, a conglomerate with businesses in banking, insurance, microfinance, technology, remittance and payment services, and digital services. Prabhu Capital Ltd. was established on 21st July 2009 and obtained a Merchant Banking license from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on September 9, 2010. Since then, Prabhu Capital Ltd. is currently providing various Merchant Banking services such as Depository Participant (DP), Issue Management, Underwriting, Portfolio Management Services, Registrar to the Share (RTS) Services, and Mutual Fund Manager.
About the issue
Prabhu Capital Limited is issuing the closed-ended mutual fund scheme "Prabhu Smart Fund" from today i.e. on 18th Falgun and will close on 23rd Falgun, 2079. If not subscribed fully by the early closing date, the issue can be extended till Chaitra 05.
8 crore unit shares will be issued at a par value of Rs. 10 per unit. 14% of the total units i.e. 1.12 crore units worth Rs. 11.2 crores have been allocated to the fund promoter Prabhu Bank Limited whereas 1% of the total units i.e. 8 lakh units have been allocated to the fund manager Prabhu Capital Limited. Thus, the remaining 6.80 crore units will be allocated to the general public.
"Prabhu Smart Fund" is a closed-end fund, meaning it can be traded in NEPSE. The fund has a maturity period of 10 years. Applicants can apply for a minimum of 100 units to a maximum of 80 lakh units.
Currently, Prabhu Capital is managing one closed-end fund i.e Prabhu Select Fund (PSF) in the market.
