Preparation completion of Himalayan Hydro expo; scheduled to be inaugurated by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari
Himalayan Hydro Expo 2018 is all set to open its doors for the exhibitors and visitors from Poush 21 to 23, 2074 at Bhrikuti Mandap of Kathmandu which will be inaugurated by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Poush 21, Friday. The event is jointly being organized by the Association of Independent Power Producers (IPAN) and Expo and Event Management Service Private Limited which is the first such international event of its kind in Nepal.
Issuing a press statement, the organizers informed that the event would turn a milestone in supporting the ambition of government to produce 17,000 MW of hydropower in 7 years.
The event will showcase more than 100 stalls related to Hydropower producers, producers of electro-mechanical devices of hydropower, suppliers, designers, consultants, insurance, investors and banking and financial institutions out of which more than 50% stalls would represent the foreign exhibitors. The presence of dozens of national and international hydropower enthusiasts is expected to boost the market of hydropower in Nepal and to facilitate the knowledge exchange.
Regular seminars on several issues pertaining to the hydropower development will be held throughout 3 days of the expo, stated the press note.
The event will also see the competition between students and other individuals who are working out to develop their projects and research works in their personal level for the innovations in hydropower. The organizers have also decided to award best hydropower innovators during the event where the first prize is Rs. 55,555.55 followed by Rs. 22,222.22 for the second and Rs. 11,111.11 for the second runner up.
More than 50,000 visitors are expected to pay their visit to this expo, the organizers informed through the press release.
