President Bhandari urges NRNs to help bring capital and technology home

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said Nepalis inside and outside the country should do their best to support Nepal as it is in the journey towards peace and prosperity.

In a programme organised Sunday at Warsaw of Poland, the President called on the Non Resident Nepali (NRN) community to send capital and technology for the development of motherland.

In her address to a programme jointly organised by the NRNA, Poland and the Nepali Embassy in Germany in her honour on the eve of the COP24 Climate Change Summit, the President underlined the need of expanding the Nepal-Poland relations to the people's level. Minister for Forests and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet sought support from all by realizing the changed context in Nepal.

Ramesh Prasad Khanal, Nepal's Non-Resident Ambassador to Germany, called for taking the Nepal-Poland relations to a new height.

NRNA, Poland president Dr Buddhiraj Subedi was of the view of starting the culture of bilateral exchange through the consolidation of bilateral ties. Hundreds of people including first generation Nepali representative Durga Maskey were present on the occasion. Maskey arrived here some 57 years ago to study electrical engineering on a scholarship quota.

A Nepali cultural presentation was the part of the programme. According to NRNA, Poland, there are around 9,000 Nepali in Poland involved in various types of business and professions.
