Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Sworn in Following Presidential Appointment
Newly-appointed Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was formally sworn in, marking the culmination of recent political developments in Nepal.
President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to PM Oli at Sheetal Niwas on Monday. This appointment comes after President Paudel, acting under Article 76 (2) of the Constitution, appointed Oli as Prime Minister the previous day.
Prime Minister Oli assumes leadership following his alliance with the Nepali Congress (NC), a move that led to the withdrawal of support for the previous government led by Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The political transition unfolded after Dahal's tenure ended on July 12 when he failed to secure a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.
