Rastriya Banijya Bank and Sinja Rural Municipality Launch Farmers' Easy Loan Program
Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited has signed an initial agreement with Sinja Rural Municipality in Jumla, Karnali, to launch the "Farmers' Easy Loan" program. The agreement was signed by the bank’s CEO, Devendra Raman Khanal, and Sinja Rural Municipality Chairperson, Purna Bahadur Dhital. The program will allow Nepali citizens aged 18 to 65 or legally registered agricultural businesses to apply for loans with recommendations from the municipality.
The loans will be provided for up to 10 years, with an interest rate set at the base rate plus a 0.50% premium, and the municipality will offer a 1% interest subsidy. The program aims to boost agricultural production, income, and self-employment, leading to improved living standards. The event was attended by various officials, including Achyut Gautam from the bank’s Agricultural and Social Banking Department.
