Rastriya Banijya Bank Conducts Financial Literacy Orientation for Federal Parliament Members
Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited conducted an orientation program on financial literacy for members of the Federal Parliament on Wednesday. This event was held in collaboration with the Federal Parliament and coordinated by the WIFCAB organization. The program featured presentations from Devendra Raman Khanal, Chief Executive of the bank, Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal, former governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, and Bhuvan Kumar Dahal, former president of Nepal Bankers Association.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Indira Rana, emphasized the increasing need for financial literacy and suggested its inclusion in the school curriculum. The program covered the bank's current situation, its economic contributions, financial policy, monetary policy, personal financing, and budgeting.
Federal parliamentarians raised questions about money management, the importance of currency, interest rates, and the relationship between banks and employment. The event also saw the participation of key officials from the Federal Parliament Secretariat and Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited. Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited operates 288 branch offices, 308 ATMs, and 71 extension counters across all 77 districts of Nepal.
