Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill-2081 Aims at Environmental Conservation
The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill-2081, aimed at contributing to environmental conservation, was presented in the National Assembly meeting on Sunday. Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet tabled the bill, which was unanimously endorsed by the assembly. The bill addresses evolving conditions and demands in the field of alternative and renewable energies.
The proposed legislation seeks to establish legal provisions to promote, develop, and expand renewable energy, thereby boosting environmental conservation efforts. It emphasizes increasing the general public's access to sustainable energy and calls for coordination among relevant agencies across the three tiers of government to achieve this goal.
