Sagarmatha Jalbidhyut Company Posts 21.97% Rise in Net Profit for Q2 FY 2080/81; EPS at Rs. 11.77

Sagarmatha Jalbidhyut Company Limited (SMJC) has unveiled a second-quarter performance for the fiscal year 2080/81, showcasing a 21.97 percent surge in net profit. The company reported an impressive profit of Rs. 6.59 crores, surpassing the Rs. 5.4 crores generated in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year 2079-80.
This positive momentum is underpinned by a 2.26 percent increase in revenue from the sale of electricity, reaching Rs. 16.33 crores during the second quarter of the fiscal year 2080-81. Additionally, non-operating income witnessed a remarkable uptick of 754.67%, surging to Rs. 81.83 Lakhs.
While the company navigated a slight increase in financial expenses by 8.68%, totaling Rs. 5.76 crores during the same period, administrative expenses exhibited a favorable decline of 4.15%, settling at Rs. 61.10 Lakhs.
The annualized Earnings per Share (EPS) for Sagarmatha Jalbidhyut Company Limited stands at Rs. 11.77. Furthermore, the Net Worth per Share remained at Rs. 111.03 for the fiscal year 2080-81.
With a paid-up capital of Rs. 1.12 Arba and a considerable reservoir of Rs. 12.35 crores in retained earnings Sagarmatha Jalbidhyut Company Limited has also made significant investments, with Rs. 46.36 crores dedicated to other hydropower projects. Notably, the secured consortium loan of the hydropower company stands at Rs. 1.1 Arba.
