Samsung Electronics Global CFO HK Park Meets Hon’ble PM Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba; Samsung to manufacture TV sets in its Nawalparasi plant soon
Samsung Electronics Global President & CFO Mr HK Park on Wednesday has paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Nepal Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba, during an official visit to the country. Mr Park was accompanied by a delegation of other senior executives of the Company.
During the meeting, Mr Park apprised the Hon'ble Prime Minister about the various initiatives Samsung is taking in the country in the areas of electronics manufacturing, retail and job creation. He also reiterated Samsung's commitment to the welfare of the community, especially the Nepalese youth, through future initiatives.
Samsung, along with its local partner HIM Electronics (Golchha Group), has announced the setting up of a factory in Nawalparasi to manufacture LED televisions. Samsung is very confident that the new factory will foster electronics manufacturing in Nepal. It will also further the Government’s objective of boosting local production capabilities and employment generation.
Samsung has been in Nepal for over two decades. Today, it is a household name in the country. It currently sells smartphones and consumer electronics products such as televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and microwaves in the Nepal market through its partners. It has a strong network of over 2,000 electronics retail stores and customer service centres.
