Mr. Bhandari, giving the opening speech of the program, said that this is one step of many that the bank will take towards the new digital ecosystem. He emphasized on the importance of environmental conservation and the need to gradually replace all paper based transactions by digital transactions. Similarly, the co-founder of Sarathi cab added, 'Many of our drivers don't have bank account yet and because of that they earn and spend on a daily basis with little to no savings. Thus when the payments go directly to their bank account, it will create a saving habit. Likewise most often in morning trips the problem of change is creating inconclusive as at that time many shops haven't even opened yet. So, the scan and pay system will eliminate that problem.'
In addition to convenience many incentives are also being offered to both the can drivers and the customers by Kumari Bank and Fonepay. From September 1, the drivers can enjoy bonus upto Rs 15 and customers can enjoy cashback upto Rs 20.
The service can be used via Sarathi app and the payment can be made through Fonepay, Kumari smart app and Esewa. Similarly, all the customers from banks associated with Fonepay can also enjoy this service.
Kumari Bank is currently providing services through a network of 103 branches, 93 ATMs, 3 extension counters and 3 branchless banking units.
