Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) Chairman Appointment Likely Today

The long-vacant position of Chairman at the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), the regulatory body of Nepal's securities market, is expected to be filled today.
On Sunday, November 24, the Chairman Recommendation Committee had shortlisted three candidates for the position. According to sources, the committee has recommended Santosh Narayan Shrestha, Muktinath Shrestha, and Navaraj Adhikari. Among these three, one is likely to be appointed as the Chairman during today’s Cabinet meeting.
It is noteworthy that the position of SEBON Chairman has remained vacant since January 4, 2024 (Poush 20, 2080). The new appointment is anticipated to bring fresh leadership and momentum to the board.
