Shobhakant Paudel Appointed as Chairman of Nepal Stock Exchange Following Ministerial Decision

Shobhakant Paudel has been appointed as the Chairman of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), succeeding Mr. Bhupal Baral. Paudel, formerly the Director General of the Department of Customs, assumed the role of NEPSE Chairman following a ministerial decision by Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat.

Before taking on the responsibilities as NEPSE Chairman, Paudel held significant positions, including Chairman of Nepal Reinsurance Company, and member of the Executive Committee of the Insurance Committee.

Prior to Paudel's appointment, Mr. Bhupal Baral served as the Chairman of NEPSE and concurrently held the position of head of the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division of the Ministry. However, Baral has returned to his previous position after completing a five-month tenure as NEPSE Chairman.
