South Korea Pledges 100 Million Korean Won for Nepal's Flood and Landslide Relief Efforts
The Republic of Korea National Red Cross has pledged 100 million Korean Won (approximately Rs. 10 million) to Nepal to aid survivors of the recent floods and landslides. The funds will be channeled through the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) to support emergency relief and rehabilitation in the hardest-hit areas.
In a message of solidarity, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul expressed deep condolences to Nepal's Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, extending sympathies for the devastating losses. The minister voiced shock over the news and, on behalf of the Korean government, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and well wishes to the injured.
South Korea reaffirmed its commitment to offering support within its capacity, underscoring its solidarity with Nepal during this challenging time. This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and South Korea, celebrated through various high-level events and exchanges.
