Rajendra Malla, outgoing president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, stressed that economic prosperity in Nepal depends on the comprehensive development of the Far West.

Speaking at the felicitation of the newly elected Sudurpaschim Chamber of Commerce in Kailali, Malla highlighted the potential of agriculture, tourism, and hydropower as key sectors for driving prosperity in the region.

He expressed concerns about Sudurpaschim's development despite its rich natural resources and cultural heritage and emphasized the need to create jobs by boosting investment in key sectors. Malla urged the creation of an industrial environment to reduce labor migration to India.

Vice President Santosh Pandey underscored the importance of marketing local agricultural products from Sudurpaschim and promoting commercial cultivation to increase production and connect markets across provinces. He also called for policy stability and an investment-friendly environment to foster growth and employment in the region.
