The Supreme Court has issued a temporary interim order to not cancel the appointment process for the Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). Additionally, the court has called for a discussion with both parties on Ashad 21.

The recommendation committee had decided to cancel the process, citing the absence of three out of the five shortlisted candidates for the interview. In response, one of the shortlisted candidates, Santosh Narayan Shrestha, filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court, arguing that there is no legal provision for canceling the process.

The writ, which names the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Attorney General, and the recommendation committee as defendants, was heard on Tuesday by a bench led by Justice Abdul Aziz Musalman.

The bench has requested written responses from the defendants and scheduled a discussion with both parties regarding the interim order. Until then, the Supreme Court has issued a temporary interim order to not cancel the selection process, as informed by Supreme Court Information Officer Govinda Prasad Ghimire.
