Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship Set to Tee Off at Gokarna Golf Club

The Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship, the fifth event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2024-25, will kick off on Monday at Gokarna Golf Club. The prestigious event will be played over 72 holes from 25th February to 28th February. A cut will be applied after 36 holes, with the top 21 professionals and ties advancing to the final two rounds, alongside the top amateurs who make it past the professional cut.
A total of 30 professional golfers will compete for a share of the Rs 882,000 prize pool. The winner will receive Rs 150,000, while the runner-up will earn Rs 100,000, and the third-place finisher will walk away with Rs 75,000. Prize money will be awarded to the top 21 finishers, with 10 amateurs also joining the professionals in the contest.
Notable professional golfers, including Bhuwan Nagarkoti, Niraj Tamang, Rabi Khadka, Dinesh Prajapati, Jayaram Shrestha, Dhana Thapa, and Sanjay Lama, are expected to showcase top-class golf during the event. They will face strong competition from amateurs like Sadbhav Acharya and Rahul Bishwokarma. Rabindra Man Shrestha, President of the Nepal Professional Golfers’ Association (NPGA), praised the growing standard of the game and expressed his gratitude to the event’s sponsor, Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd., for their continued support in promoting the sport.
