Swet-Ganga Hydropower Posts Rs. 10.25 Crore Profit in Q2, Reversing Loss from Previous Year; EPS at Rs. 12.88

Swet-Ganga Hydropower & Construction Limited (SGHC) has delivered a strong financial performance in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2081/82, reporting a net profit of Rs. 10.25 crores. This marks a significant turnaround from the net loss of Rs. 2.53 lakhs recorded in the same period last year.
The impressive recovery is primarily driven by a 10.85% increase in power sales revenue, which rose to Rs. 51.26 crores from Rs. 46.24 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Additionally, the company managed to reduce administrative expenses by 1.81%, although finance costs saw a 22.13% increase.
SGHC maintains a paid-up capital of Rs. 1.59 Arba, while its retained earnings showed a deficit of Rs. 34.21 crores in the previous year. The company’s property, plant, and equipment assets grew by 7.48% to Rs. 1.82 crores, and long-term borrowings decreased by 2.60% to Rs. 4.58 Arba.
For shareholders, the company reported an annualized Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs. 12.88, with a net worth per share of Rs. 78.54. SGHC's Price-to-Earnings (P/E) ratio stands at 39.83, with the stock trading at Rs. 513 per share.
