Tanahun Hydropower Project Achieves 58.1% Progress, Targeted for Completion in Two Years
The 140 MW Tanahun hydropower project has achieved 58.1 percent progress, with 52.07 percent financial progress, according to project chief Shyamji Bhandari.
The project is divided into three packages:
- Package-1, focusing on structures such as dams, has reached 35 percent completion.
- Package-2, involving power plant construction, has achieved 59 percent progress.
- Package-3, which includes the transmission line construction, has progressed by 73.5 percent.
The project is set to be completed in the next two years, by Asar 2083 BS. Current work includes the supply, installation, and operation of hydromechanics, electromechanical equipment, and the construction of tunnels and powerhouses. Under package-3, India's KEC International is constructing a 220 kV double circuit transmission line from Damauli to Bharatpur in Chitwan.
