TEPC unveils list of CIP contenders

The Trade and Export Promotion Centre (TEPC) has unveiled a list of 38 top exporters, importers, industrialists and entrepreneurs, who will be honoured with the “excellence award” for their contribution to the national economy. The TEPC has given 15 days to claim and file complaints against companies and individuals listed for the Commercially Important Person (CIP). The winner will receive various facilities like special passes at Tribhuvan International Airport, easy access to government offices and special treatment. The award will be conferred under 17 categories and is based on the performance during fiscal years 2013-14 and 2014-15. Among the contenders, private sector telecom giant Ncell has been named the largest income tax paying enterprise. Dabur Nepal and Aarti Strips have been named the top two largest exporters to India. Dabur has also been named as top importers of Nepali goods to India. Tibet Yintao Trading and Yunnan Tian Hong Ting Drug, China, have been named top two importers of Nepali goods to China. Shivam Cements has been named the largest investor of manufacturing industry under operation. IME Limited has been named the largest remittance company helping the inflow of foreign currency through the banking channel. Tara Goan Regency, or Hyatt Regency has been named the largest foreign currency earning hotel through the tourism sector, and Yeti Travels has been listed as a travel agency bringing the largest number of tourists from countries other than India.
