THAI Airways Announces Relaunch of Direct Service Between Kathmandu and Bangkok
THAI Airways International has resumed its direct service to Nepal after a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
THAI Airways, which began serving Nepal in 1968 and halted operations in March 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resumed its services to Nepal on October 29, 2023, through Society International Travel Services as the General Sales Agent.
Following a positive response from Nepal, THAI Airways decided to introduce a second daily flight initially using Airbus 320 aircraft from Kathmandu to Bangkok in December 2023. THAI Airways now operates various aircraft, including the Airbus 320, Boeing 777, Dreamliner 787, and Airbus 350, serving over 60 destinations.
Rabi Chandra Singh, Executive Chairman of Society International Travel Services and RR Group, emphasized Nepal's appeal for cultural and natural beauty seekers, highlighting THAI Airways' commitment to seamless travel between Nepal and Thailand. In 2024, the airline operates 73 active aircraft with an average utilization of 12.8 hours per day to meet growing passenger demand and improve connectivity.
