UAE Deputy Prime Minister Arrives in Nepal for Official Visit, Holds Bilateral Talks

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening for a two-day official visit to Nepal. His arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport was warmly welcomed by Nepal’s Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit includes a series of high-level political engagements aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship between Nepal and the UAE. During his stay, Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah is scheduled to lead the UAE delegation in an official bilateral meeting with the Nepali delegation, which is headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh.

Accompanying the UAE Deputy Prime Minister are several high-ranking officials including Ahmed Ali Mohamed Al Sayegh, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Saeed Mubarak Rashed Alhajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister for Energy and Sustainability Affairs; and Abdulla Jarwan Alshamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Nepal. Their presence underlines the multifaceted nature of the diplomatic discussions, spanning foreign policy, trade, energy, and sustainable development.

The UAE delegation is expected to depart for Abu Dhabi later this afternoon following the completion of the official engagements. This visit marks a significant step in deepening Nepal-UAE diplomatic and economic cooperation, with both sides expressing hope for enhanced partnerships in various sectors.
