What should the concerned authorities do about insider trading?

The illegal practice of trading in the stock exchange for the individual's own advantage through having access to confidential information is considered as insider trading.
Lately in Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) we have seen a lot of scrip being traded due to insider information. Here is the view of experts regarding what should the concerned authorities do to stop insider trading?

The concerned authorities should halt the trading of the scrips. Through NRB, the business of the respective financial institutions should be halted and investigation should be carried out to find out about the information leak. Penalty should be charged to the respective financial institutions.

Firstly, the insider trading needs to be identified and then verified and appropriate action should be taken by the concerned authority.
