NEPSE index tanks 17.81 points closing at 1,300.41; turnover still on the lower side

NEPSE index has declined today by 17.81 points or 1.35%. The market today had opened at 1,318.26 points and kept declining throughout the day ultimately closing in the red zone.

Total turnover worth Rs 39.68 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 10.23 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 4,950 transactions.

Global IME Bank (GBIME) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 4.60 crore worth of shares were traded. Similarly, GBIME was also the top in case of number of shares traded as 1.53 lakh unit shares were exchanged.

Likewise, the top gainer for the day is Reliance Finance (RLFL) whose price increased by 7.02% closing at Rs. 122. And, Progressive Finance (PROFL) was the top loser of the day losing 5.75% on its price.

The sub-indices for all sectors except Trading declined and closed in red. Trading sector gained 0.84 being the only sector that climbed today. Similarly, Insurance sector lost the most today tumbling by 122.79 points.
